It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a man wishes to return (to intercourse) after having done it once, he should perform ablution. Sufyan said: Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id remained alive until after the Battle of Harrah.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In the year 63 AH, the Battle of Harrah took place between Yazid ibn Muawiyah and the people of Madinah.

From the ahadith of this chapter, and from the hadith mentioned in the commentary of hadith number (903), it is understood that when a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) eats food, he should wash his hands or perform ablution (wudu). If there are traces of impurity (najasah) on the hands, then washing the hands becomes necessary.

See the chapter of hadith number (906).
