It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Irbaad bin Saariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come to us at Suffah while we were wearing turbans, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: If you knew what Allah has stored for you, then you would not grieve over those things which were not given to you in this world. Remember that Persia and Rome will certainly, most certainly, be conquered at your hands.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … However, this matter is established from the blessed ahadith that the outcome of poverty is very good, as is narrated from Fadala bin Ubaidah radi Allahu anhu that when the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would lead the people in prayer, due to standing in prayer, people would fall down from hunger, and these were the Ashab al-Suffah. The Bedouins would say about them: These are mad people. But when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam finished the prayer, he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((If you knew what reward you have with Allah, you would love that your need and poverty increase.)) … If you were to know what reward and recompense you have with Allah, you would wish that your need and poverty increase.
