It is narrated from Abdullah bin Zalim Mazni that when Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) left Kufa, he appointed Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) as his deputy. He appointed some preachers who used to speak ill of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Abdullah bin Zalim says that I was sitting beside Sa’id bin Zaid. He became extremely angry and stood up. He took my hand, so I followed him. He said: Do you see this man who is wronging himself and orders to curse a man of Paradise? I bear witness about nine men that they are all people of Paradise. And if I also bear witness about the tenth that he is also of Paradise, I will not be sinful. Abdullah says: I asked him: Who are they? He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Hira! Be calm, those who are present upon you at this time are either a Prophet, a Siddiq, or a Martyr. I asked: Who were they? He said: The Messenger of Allah, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Sayyiduna Umar, Sayyiduna Uthman, Sayyiduna Ali, Sayyiduna Zubair, Sayyiduna Talha, Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf, and Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Malik. After this, he remained silent. I asked: And who was the tenth man? He said: Myself. In another narration, the words are that Hira began to move with joy, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Hira, be calm.
