It is narrated from Abu Fazarah, who narrates from Yazid bin Asam, and he narrates from the wife of the Prophet, Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married her and when she was sent to him (i.e., when the marriage was consummated), on both occasions he was not in the state of ihram. And the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), passed away at a place called Saraf. (It is a strange and beautiful coincidence that) she was buried at the very place where she had been alone with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) descended into her grave.
