Hadith 11453

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her), while expressing pride over the other wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), used to say that my marriage with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was performed by Allah Almighty from above the heavens.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This was the honor of Sayyidah Zaynab radi Allahu anha that her marriage with the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was performed by Allah Himself from the heavens.

Chapter: The Eighth of His sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Wives, the Mother of the Believers, Zaynab bint Khuzaymah al-Hilaliyyah radi Allahu anha

The eighth wife of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Zaynab bint Khuzaymah al-Hilaliyyah radi Allahu anha.

In Musnad Ahmad, there is no mention of Sayyidah Zaynab bint Khuzaymah radi Allahu anha. She was Zaynab bint Khuzaymah bin Abdullah bin Umar bin Abd Manaf. Her kunyah was Umm al-Masakin (Mother of the Poor). She was previously married to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Jahsh radi Allahu anhu. When he was martyred in the Battle of Uhud, the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam married her. Sayyidah spent only two or three months with him sallallahu alayhi wa sallam before she passed away. The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam led her funeral prayer, and she was buried in the cemetery of Madinah, Baqi’ al-Gharqad.
