It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not give a wedding feast (walimah) on the occasion of marriage with any of his other wives as he did on the occasion of marriage with Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Zaynab, may Allah be pleased with her. Thabit Banani asked: What kind of walimah did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, give? He replied: He fed the people so much meat and bread that food was left over from the people.
