It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that one day the wives of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were gathered with him. They asked him: "O Prophet of Allah! Which one of us will join you first?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "The one among you whose hand is the longest will join me first." We took a stick and measured our hands, and among us, Sayyida Sawda bint Zam'a (may Allah be pleased with her) had the longest hand. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, the first among us to join the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was Sayyida Sawda (may Allah be pleased with her), meaning she was the first among the pure wives to pass away. Later, we realized that her hand was long in giving charity; she loved to give charity very much.
