Hadith 11332

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was lying on a mat, and it had left marks on his body. In this state, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came, and seeing this scene, he said: O Prophet of Allah! If you (peace and blessings be upon him) could have a slightly softer bed made, it would be better. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What do I have to do with the world? My example and the example of the world is like that of a rider who travels in intense heat and, at some point during the day, rests under the shade of a tree, then leaves it and moves on.
