It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was present in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when a bowl of tharid (a dish in which bread is soaked and softened in broth and then eaten) was presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and others ate from it, and people continued eating until the time of Zuhr. When one group finished eating and got up, another group would come and eat. A person asked Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him): Was more food being added to the dish? He replied: Nothing was added from the earth, but it is possible that it was being increased from the heavens.
