It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) that we were one hundred and thirty men in the company of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Does anyone have any food? One man had about one sa’ of food, so its dough was kneaded. After that, a polytheist man came driving some goats, his hair was disheveled and scattered. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Will you sell the goats or give them as a gift? He said: Not as a gift or donation, but I will sell them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) bought a goat from him, it was slaughtered and prepared. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered its liver, kidneys, etc. to be roasted. By Allah! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set aside a portion of the goat’s liver for every man; whoever was present was given it, and for whoever was not present, it was set aside. Two trays of the goat’s meat were prepared. We all ate to our fill and meat was still left in both trays. Then we loaded the leftover food onto a camel.
