It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: On the day of Hudaybiyyah, the people were extremely thirsty. In front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was a small leather container from which he used to perform ablution. The people began to look at that container with longing eyes. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What is the matter? They submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Other than the water present before you, we have no water to drink or to perform ablution. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed both his hands in that leather container. Water began to gush forth from his fingers like springs. We drank the water and performed ablution. Salim bin Abi Ja’d says that I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): How many people were you that day? He said: Even if we had been one hundred thousand, that water would have sufficed us; as it was, our number was fifteen hundred.
