It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the noble Companions dug the trench for three days without eating anything. During the digging, the Companions said: O Messenger of Allah! Here is a rocky boulder. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sprinkle water on it. The Companions sprinkled water on it. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, picked up the pickaxe, and said: In the name of Allah. He struck the boulder three times with the pickaxe, and it shattered into pieces. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Suddenly my gaze fell and I saw that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had tied a stone to his blessed stomach.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From the ahadith of this chapter, it is understood that even rebellious, wild, and stubborn types of animals would become obedient and submissive upon seeing the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

The camel prostrated before the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). It should be noted that in this hadith, the camel’s prostration means that it placed its mouth on the ground, as is made clear by the hadith in this very chapter.
