بابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي خُصُوصِيَّاتِهِ ﷺChapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding His ﷺ Special Characteristics
Hadith 11248

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ”أُعْطِيتُ خَمْسًا لَمْ يُعْطَهُنَّ نَبِيٌّ قَبْلِي وَلَا أَقُولُهُنَّ فَخْرًا بُعِثْتُ إِلَى النَّاسِ كَافَّةً الْأَحْمَرِ وَالْأَسْوَدِ وَنُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ مَسِيرَةَ شَهْرٍ وَأُحِلَّتْ لِيَ الْغَنَائِمُ وَلَمْ تَحِلَّ لِأَحَدٍ قَبْلِي وَجُعِلَتْ لِيَ الْأَرْضُ مَسْجِدًا وَطَهُورًا وَأُعْطِيتُ الشَّفَاعَةَ فَأَخَّرْتُهَا لِأُمَّتِي فَهِيَ لِمَنْ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Five such characteristics have been granted to me which were not given to any prophet before me. I do not mention this out of pride, but as a blessing and favor from Allah. I have been sent to all people, both red and black. My awe and majesty have been cast upon the enemy from a distance of one month's journey, thus aiding me. The spoils of war have been made lawful for me, whereas before me, the spoils were not made lawful for anyone. The entire earth has been made a place of prayer and a means of purification for me. And I have been granted the authority of intercession, and I have deferred this supplication for those in my Ummah who will not commit shirk with Allah.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … For the previous communities, it was necessary that they worship in their designated places of worship and churches, but for the Ummah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, this concession has been granted that if a person cannot go to a mosque, he may perform prayer (salah) in any part of the earth, and if water is not available for ablution (wudu) or ritual bath (ghusl) after major impurity, then tayammum (dry ablution) may be performed.
