بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي شُجَاعَتِهِ ﷺ وَوَفَائِهِ بِالْعَهْدِChapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding His ﷺ Courage and Fulfillment of Promises
Hadith 11236

عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ قَالَ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ وَنَحْنُ نَلُوذُ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ أَقْرَبُنَا إِلَى الْعَدُوِّ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَشَدِّ النَّاسِ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَأْسًا
(Second chain) Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw the Companions on the day of Badr that we were seeking refuge through the Messenger of Allah, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was the closest of all of us to the polytheists, and he fought the most fiercely on that day.
