Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My Lord presented to me that He would turn the valley of Batha in Makkah into gold for me, but I said: No, O my Lord! I will be satiated one day and hungry another day. When I am hungry, I will express helplessness and need before You and remember You, and when I am satiated, Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My Lord presented to me that He would turn the valley of Batha in Makkah into gold for me, but I said: No, O my Lord! Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu, who says: The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam separated from his wives for a month. Then Umar ibn al-Khattab radi Allahu anhu came to him while he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was in an upper room, sitting on a mat which had left its marks on his back. Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu said: O Messenger of Allah! People like Kisra drink from vessels of gold and silver, and you are in this state. He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam replied: ((Indeed, their good things have been hastened for them in their worldly life.)) … The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had left his wives for a month, so Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu came to him while he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was in an upper chamber, sitting on a mat that had left its mark on his back. Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu said: O Messenger of Allah! People like Kisra drink from gold and silver vessels, and you are like this. He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: Their good deeds have been hastened for them in this world.
(Musnad Ahmad: 7950, Musnad al-Bazzar: 3676)

Thus, in the abundance of blessings, there is a possibility of such a danger that perhaps, in their form, the recompense for good deeds is being given in this world itself. Consider the following example:

Food was brought to Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman ibn Awf radi Allahu anhu (for breaking his fast) while he was fasting. He said: Mus‘ab ibn ‘Umayr was martyred and he was better than me. He was shrouded in a single cloth; if his head was covered, his feet would be exposed, and if his feet were covered, his head would be exposed. And I think he also said: And Hamzah was martyred and he was better than me. Then the world was spread out for us, or he said: We were given from the world what we were given, and we feared that our good deeds had been hastened for us. Then he began to weep until he left the food. (Sahih Bukhari: 1196)
