عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْجَزَّارِ قَالَ دَخَلَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَقَالُوا يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَدِّثِينَا عَنْ سِرِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ كَانَ سِرُّهُ وَعَلَانِيَتُهُ سَوَاءً ثُمَّ نَدِمْتُ فَقُلْتُ أَفْشَيْتُ سِرَّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ فَقَالَ ”أَحْسَنْتِ“
Yahya bin Jazaar says: Some of the noble Companions went to the service of Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) and submitted: O Umm al-Mu’minin! Please tell us about the confidential matters of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: The outward and inward state of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was the same. Then she regretted her statement and said: I have disclosed the secret of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived and I informed him of this, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You have done right.

Benefits: … Both the confidential and hidden matters inside the house of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, as well as the open and public matters performed outside the house before the people, are proofs (hujjah) for the Muslim Ummah. Through the Mothers of the Believers (Ummahat al-Mu'minin) and the servants of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, knowledge of those matters which the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to carry out inside the house became known.
