Hadith 11209

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never struck any of his servants or wives, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) never hit anyone with his own hand except in jihad. And if anyone ever behaved badly towards him, he (peace and blessings be upon him) never took revenge, except when the limits of Allah Almighty were violated. And whenever he was given the choice between two matters, and one of them was easier than the other, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would choose the easier one of the two, unless it was a sinful matter, in which case he (peace and blessings be upon him) would not choose it. If that matter was sinful, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) would be the farthest from it.
