It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to come to us and mingle with us. I had a little brother, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to joke with him and make him laugh. He had kept a small bird and used to play with it. The bird died. One day, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and saw him sad and said: "What happened to Abu Umair, why is he sad?" The family told him, "O Messenger of Allah! The bird he used to play with has died." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Umair! What did the bird do?"
