عَنْ عَتَّابٍ الْبَكْرِيِّ قَالَ كُنَّا نُجَالِسُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ خَاتَمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الَّذِي كَانَ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ فَقَالَ بِأُصْبُعِهِ السَّبَّابَةِ هَكَذَا لَحْمٌ نَاشِزٌ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from ‘Itab Bikri, who says: We used to sit in the gathering of Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) in Madinah Munawwarah. I asked him about the Seal of Prophethood between the shoulders of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He pointed with his index finger and explained that it was like a raised piece of flesh between his shoulders. ! In some books of hadith, at this place, the narrator is Ghiyath instead of ‘Itab.
