It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) that when it was the day of 10th Dhul-Hijjah at Mina, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted a camel, and a man was holding its rein. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What day is this today?" We remained silent, thinking that perhaps the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would give this day another name. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself said: "Is it not the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr)?" He then narrated the hadith as in the previous narration.
