Hadith 11080

It is narrated from Abdul Aziz bin Rufa’i, he says: I and Shaddad bin Ma’qil both went to the service of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has left nothing except what is between these two covers. (i.e., the Noble Qur’an) And we went to the service of Muhammad bin Ali, and he also said the same. Abdul Aziz said that Mukhtar bin Thaqafi used to claim that revelation was sent down to him.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Imam Bukhari has established this chapter on this hadith: "Chapter: The Statement of One Who Said: The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Did Not Leave Anything Except What Is Between the Two Covers (of the Book)."
Hafiz Ibn Hajar said: In reality, this chapter is a refutation of those people whose belief is that, due to the martyrdom and death of the bearers of the Qur’an, a large portion of the Noble Qur’an was lost. This is a belief fabricated by the Rafidah, so that they can substantiate their claim that at the time of the Prophet’s sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passing, it was an established matter that Sayyiduna Ali radi Allahu anhu would receive the leadership and caliphate, and that this reality was also present in the Noble Qur’an, but the Companions concealed it. This is a false claim, because the Companions did not conceal anything. (Fath al-Bari)
