Brief Explanation
Benefits: … A special journey should not be undertaken with the intention of visiting the blessed grave of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam; see also Hadith number (12699).
The command of Allah, the Exalted, is: {اِنَّاللّٰہَوَمَلٰٓئِکَتَہٗیُصَلُّوْنَعَلَیالنَّبِیِّٰٓیاَیُّھَاالَّذِیْنَاٰمَنُوْاصَلُّوْاعَلَیْہِوَسَلِّمُوْاتَسْلِیْمًا۔} … Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed! Send blessings upon him and send salutations, abundant salutations. (Surah al-Ahzab: 56)
Imam Isma'il ibn Ishaq Jahdami al-Qadi al-Maliki rahimahullah, in his book Fadl al-Salat 'ala al-Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, has mentioned (107) ahadith related to sending blessings (salat) and salutations (salam). Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah has authenticated this book and judged the authenticity and weakness of its narrations.
Among the formulas of salat and salam mentioned in this book, those with concise wording are as follows: Allahumma salli 'ala Aali Muhammad kama sallayta 'ala Aali Ibrahim. Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala Aali Muhammad kama sallayta 'ala Aali Ibrahim innaka Hamidun Majid.

A group of the people of knowledge are of the opinion that in this hadith, the words "sallallahu alayhi wa sallam" are marfu' (attributed to the Prophet).
In the supplications for entering and exiting the mosque, the following words of salat and salam are mentioned: ((As-salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah.)) … Blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. (Ibn Majah, Ibn al-Sunni)
The following hadith is also taken from the aforementioned book Fadl al-Salat 'ala al-Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam: The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((Man dhukirtu 'indahu falam yusalli 'alayya faqad khati'a tariq al-jannah.)) … Whoever, in whose presence I am mentioned, and he does not send blessings upon me, has missed the path to Paradise.
It is evident that whoever does not remember the benefactor and guide who leads to Paradise, through sending blessings and salutations, then he has …
