Hadith 11031

إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ ثَنَا رِبَاحٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِمَعْمَرٍ قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ
It is narrated from Rabah, he says: I asked Muammar: Did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, pass away while he was sitting? He said: Yes.

Benefits: … It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha that she came close to the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam just before his passing, while he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was leaning against Sayyidah. At that time, he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was saying: “Allahumma ighfir li warhamni, wa alhiqni bir-rafiq al-a‘la.” (O Allah! Forgive me and have mercy on me, and join me with the Highest Companion.) (Sahih Bukhari: 5674) He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam must have leaned in such a manner that it could also be described as sitting.
