عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِهِ مُتَوَشِّحًا فِي ثَوْبٍ الْمَغْرِبَ فَقَرَأَ الْمُرْسَلَاتِ مَا صَلَّى بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى قُبِضَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Sayyida Umm Fadl bint Harith (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) led us in the Maghrib prayer in his house, wrapped in a cloth, and recited Surah Al-Mursalat. After that, he did not perform any prayer until he passed away.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyida Umm Fadl bint Harith radi Allahu anha says: "I heard the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam reciting Surah Al-Mursalat in the Maghrib prayer. After that, he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not lead us in any prayer until Allah took his soul." … I heard that he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam recited Surah Al-Mursalat in the Maghrib prayer, and after that, he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not lead us in any prayer until he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passed away. (Sahih Bukhari: 4076) Sayyida Umm Fadl radi Allahu anha is speaking according to her knowledge; otherwise, the last prayer that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam led the noble Companions in was the Zuhr (noon) prayer.
