Hadith 11010

It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill, I would take his blessed hand and pass it over his blessed chest and supplicate with these words: "Adhhib al-ba's, Rabb an-nas" (O Lord of the people! Remove the illness), but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) withdrew his hand from mine and said: "As'alu Allah ar-Rafiq al-A'la al-As'ad" (I ask Allah for the companionship of the Most High, the Most Blessed).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By withdrawing his hand, the purpose of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was that now the time for supplication and seeking cure has ended; in the illness of death (marad al-mawt), supplication for cure is not made, rather supplication for forgiveness is made. And Allah knows best.
