Hadith 11

عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَرْبَعٍ، فَقَالَ:((إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَنَامُ وَلَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَنَامَ، يَخْفِضُ الْقِسْطَ وَيَرْفَعُهُ، يُرْفَعُ إِلَيْهِ عَمَلُ اللَّيْلِ بِالنَّهَارِ وَعَمَلُ النَّهَارِ بِاللَّيْلِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us to tell us four things and said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty does not sleep, and it does not befit Him to sleep. He lowers the scale and raises it. The deeds of the night are raised to Him before the deeds of the day, and the deeds of the day before the deeds of the night."
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The scales of deeds and sustenance are with Him; if He wills, He can make the pan of good deeds heavier, and if He wills, He can lower the pan of evil deeds. If He wills, He can grant boundless and unaccountable sustenance without it being asked for, and if He wills, He can make someone dependent from door to door despite their frequent requests. He is the Absolute Sovereign and also the Wise; in the light of His wisdom and sagacity, He can decide whatever He wills, and He possesses complete power to enforce it.
