It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Can you not bring me relief from Dhu al-Khalasah, the idol-house?" It was an idol-house among the tribe of Khath'am in Yemen, which was called the Yemeni Ka'bah. So I set out with one hundred and fifty (and according to another narration, one hundred and seventy) horsemen. I said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "I cannot sit firmly on a horse." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) struck his blessed hand on my chest with such force that I felt the marks of his fingers on my chest, and he prayed: "O Allah, grant him the ability to sit firmly and make him a guide and one who is guided." They went towards that idol-house, destroyed it, and burned it to ashes, and sent a man to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to give him the good news. The messenger of Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) informed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "By Him Who has sent you with the truth, I did not come to you until I saw it, after burning, blackened like a mangy camel." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for blessings five times for the horsemen and foot soldiers of the Ahmas tribe.
