It is narrated from Saeed bin Abi Rashid, a slave of the family of Muawiyah, who then narrated a report similar to the previous narration, except that in this one it is also mentioned: The Christian priests and leaders said, "We will not follow him regarding religion, nor will we abandon our religion and the religion of our forefathers, nor will we accept to pay him tribute; however, we are ready to fight him." In this narration, it is also mentioned that Ubad said: I asked Ibn Khuthaym, "Did Najashi accept Islam? And did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, not perform the (absentee) funeral prayer for him in Madinah when he informed the Companions of his death?" He said, "Yes, he was so-and-so, and this one was so-and-so." Ibn Khuthaym mentioned all their names, but I have forgotten those names. (In this narration, it is also mentioned that) the envoy of Caesar said: When I was about to return, the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, called me and said, "O Tanookhi, come here, and also do the task you were commanded to do." In fact, I had forgotten that task, so I circled around behind the people and came behind the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The cloak that was on the back of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he removed it, and I saw on his shoulder bone a large mark like the mark of cupping.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … These narrations are weak; however, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did write letters to various kings, among them a letter to Heraclius, the king of Rome. The details of this letter are found in Hadith number (6) of Sahih Bukhari. This is a lengthy hadith, in which there is also a conversation between Heraclius and Sayyiduna Abu Sufyan radi Allahu anhu regarding the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. The words of the Prophet’s sallallahu alayhi wa sallam letter in it were as follows:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. From Muhammad, the servant of Allah and His Messenger, to Heraclius, the great one of Rome …
Peace be upon him who follows the guidance.
To proceed! I invite you with the call of Islam: accept Islam and you will be safe; Allah will grant you your reward twice over. But if you turn away, then upon you is the sin of the Arisiyyin, and {یَا أَہْلَ الْکِتَابِ تَعَالَوْا إِلٰی کَلِمَۃٍ سَوَاء ٍ بَیْنَنَا وَبَیْنَکُمْ أَنْ لَا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا اللّٰہَ وَلَا نُشْرِکَ بِہِ شَیْئًا وَلَا یَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللّٰہِ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُولُوا اشْہَدُوا بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ۔}

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

From the servant of Allah and His Messenger, Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), to Heraclius, the king of Rome!

Peace be upon him who follows the guidance. After this, let it be clear that I invite you to Islam. If you accept Islam, you will be saved (from the wrath of Allah), and Allah will grant you your reward twice over. But if you turn away (from my invitation), then surely upon you will be the sin of all your subjects (for their not believing). And, O People of the Book, come to a word that is common between us and you: that we shall not worship anyone except Allah, nor associate anything with Him, nor shall any of us take others as lords besides Allah. Then if the People of the Book turn away from this, say: bear witness that we are those who submit to Allah.
