بَابُ سَرِيَّةِ أَبِي عَامِرِ نِ الْأَشْعَرِى إِلَى أَوْطَاسِ لِإِدْرَاكِهِ مَنْ فَرَّ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ مُشْرِكِي غَزْوَةِ حُنَيْنٍChapter on the Expedition of Abu ‘Amir al-Ash‘ari to Awtas to Pursue Those Who Fled There from the Polytheists of the Battle of Hunayn

عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ عُبَيْدًا أَبَا عَامِرٍ فَوْقَ أَكْثَرِ النَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ فَقُتِلَ عُبَيْدٌ يَوْمَ أَوْطَاسٍ وَقَتَلَ أَبُو مُوسَى قَاتِلَ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو وَائِلٍ وَإِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ لَا يَجْمَعَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَيْنَ قَاتِلِ عُبَيْدٍ وَبَيْنَ أَبِي مُوسَى فِي النَّارِ
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! Grant Abu Amir Ubaid superiority over most people in rank on the Day of Resurrection. Sayyiduna Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred on the day of Autas, and Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) killed Ubaid’s killer (Ibn Duraid). Abu Wa’il says: I hope that Allah Almighty will not gather Ubaid’s killer and my father together in Hell.
