It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyida Fatima bint Utbah bin Rabi’ah came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to pledge allegiance. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took her pledge of allegiance according to the verse of Surah Al-Mumtahina {أَنْلَایُشْرِکْنَبِاللّٰہِشَیْئًاوَلَایَسْرِقْنَوَلَایَزْنِینَ}. Out of modesty and shyness, she placed her hand on her head. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) liked this state of hers very much. At that moment, Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O woman! You should openly acknowledge these matters. By Allah, we also pledged allegiance on these very matters. She replied, “Alright, fine,” and then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took her pledge of allegiance in the light of this verse.
