It is narrated from ‘Iraq, who says: Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah with a group of his people during the days when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was engaged in the Battle of Khaybar, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had appointed Sayyiduna Siba‘ bin ‘Arfatah (may Allah be pleased with him) as his deputy in Madinah Munawwarah. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When I reached him, he was reciting Kaf Ha Ya ‘Ayn Sad (i.e., Surah Maryam) in the first rak‘ah of the Fajr prayer, and in the second rak‘ah he was reciting “Woe to those who give less” (i.e., Surah Al-Mutaffifin). I said in my heart that so-and-so is ruined; when he measures for himself, he measures fully, and when he measures for others, he gives less. When he finished the prayer, he gave us some provisions for the journey, and we set out for Khaybar, until we reached Khaybar. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to the Muslims about us, and they included us in their shares of the spoils of war.
