Hadith 10765

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sulaiman bin Surad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said on the occasion of the Battle of Ahzab: "After today, we will attack them; they will no longer attack us."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It happened exactly as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had said. After the Battle of the Trench (Ghazwah al-Khandaq), neither the polytheists of Makkah were able to approach Madinah al-Munawwarah, nor could they face the army of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in any battlefield. The Battle of the Trench took place in the 5th year of Hijrah. In the 6th year of Hijrah, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam set out to perform ‘umrah, but was unable to complete it, and at the place of Hudaybiyyah, the incident of the treaty with the polytheists of Makkah occurred, which was a clear victory for the Muslims. Then the polytheists did not uphold this treaty, and in 8 AH, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam conquered Makkah and thus brought an end to the reign of the polytheists of Makkah.
