It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed towards his broken incisor tooth and said: Allah’s severe wrath descended upon those people who treated the Messenger of Allah in such a manner, and Allah’s severe wrath is also upon that person whom the Messenger of Allah kills while he is fighting in the way of Allah.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Hafiz Ibn Kathir said in Al-Bidayah wa’l-Nihayah: Al-Waqidi said: In my view, it is established that the one who shot an arrow at the cheeks of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was Ibn Qami’ah, and the one who struck his lips and front teeth was Utbah bin Abi Waqqas.
The reason for the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam being wounded to such an extent at the hands of the enemies could be that his reward and recompense would be increased, and also so that it would become clear that he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is also a human being, and those afflictions can also befall him sallallahu alayhi wa sallam which generally become the fate of human beings, so that people may be certain that the real authority, power, and will belongs to Allah Ta’ala.
