It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyidah Umaymah bint Ruqaiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with the intention of pledging allegiance to Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I take from you the pledge that you will not associate anything with Allah, you will not steal, you will not commit adultery, you will not kill your children, you will not fabricate slander against anyone on your own, you will not wail, and you will not go about unveiled in public like in the days of ignorance.
