Umar bin Abdul Rahman narrates that a man said to Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): Which of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) are still with you? He said: Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik and Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with them). The man said: Salamah has returned from his migration. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do not say that, because I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: O Banu Aslam! You may live in the villages. They said: O Messenger of Allah! We fear that we might abandon our migration. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Now, wherever you are, you will remain migrants.
