(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rabi’ah bin ‘Abad (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: By Allah, I remember the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) very well, that he used to go to the people in Mina, while I was a young man at that time and would be with my father. There was a man following behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who had a handsome face, squinting eyes, and two braids. Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would stand before a group of people and say: “I am the Messenger of Allah. He commands you to worship Him and not associate anything with Him.” The man behind would say: “He is inviting you to abandon the religion of your forefathers, to leave Lat and ‘Uzza, and to forsake your allies from Banu Malik bin Uqaysh, and to adopt the innovation and misguidance he has brought.” I asked my father: “Who is this man?” He said: “This is the uncle of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Abu Lahab ‘Abd al-‘Uzza bin ‘Abd al-Muttalib.”
