(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zir bin Hubaysh (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Buraq was brought to me; it was a white, long animal, which would place its hoof at the farthest point it could see. Neither I nor Jibril separated from its back until I reached Bayt al-Maqdis, and then the gates of the heavens were opened for us, and we saw Paradise and Hell. Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not pray in Bayt al-Maqdis, while Sayyiduna Zir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Rather, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did pray. Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O bald one! What is your name? I recognize you by your face, but I do not know your name. I said: I am Zir bin Hubaysh. He said: How did you come to know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed in Bayt al-Maqdis? I said: Allah Almighty has said: {سُبْحَانَ الَّذِیْ أَسْرٰی بِعَبْدِہِ لَیْلًا مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ اِلَی الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَقْصَی الَّذِیْ بَارَکْنَا حَوْلَہُ لِنُرِیَہُ مِنْ آیَاتِنَا اِنَّہُ ھُوَ السَّمِیْعُ الْبَصِیْرُ} He said: Do you find anything in this verse that indicates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed? If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had prayed there, then you would also have to pray there, just as you pray in Masjid al-Haram. Sayyiduna Zir said: And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tied his mount to the ring to which the noble Prophets used to tie theirs. Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Was the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) afraid that it would run away, even though Allah Almighty Himself had given it to him?
