It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zir bin Hubaysh, he says: I came to Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him), while he was describing the night of Isra, saying: So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then I went, or we went, and continued to proceed in this manner until we reached Bayt al-Maqdis. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Jibreel (peace be upon him) did not enter it. I (Zir) said: Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) enter Bayt al-Maqdis that night and also pray in it? He said: O bald one! What is your name? I recognize you by your face, but I do not know your name. I said: I am Zir bin Hubaysh. He said: How did you know that he (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed there that night? I said: The Noble Qur’an informed me of this. He said: Whoever argues with the Qur’an prevails, well then, recite the evidence. I recited this verse: {سُبْحَانَ الَّذِیْ اَسْرٰی بِعَبْدِہِ لَیْلًا مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ … } He said: There is no mention in this verse that he (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed there. O bald one! Do you see anything in this verse that indicates he (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed there? I said: No. He said: By Allah! Those two did not even dismount from Buraq before the gates of the heavens were opened for them, and they saw Paradise, Hell, and all the promises of the Hereafter, and then they returned to where they had started their journey. Then Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) laughed so much that I saw his molar teeth. Then he said: People say that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tied Buraq so that it would not run away, whereas the One who knows the hidden and the manifest had subjugated Buraq for him (peace and blessings be upon him). I said: O Abu Abdullah! What kind of animal is Buraq? He said: It is a long, white animal of this kind, and its step reaches as far as the eye can see.
