It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the people of Makkah asked the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for a sign. In response, the moon was split. This incident occurred twice in Makkah. Then Allah Almighty said: The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split. If they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "This is ongoing magic." (Surah Al-Qamar: 1, 2)
