It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khabbab bin Al-Aratt (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in the shade of the Ka'bah, having made his cloak a cushion, and we said: O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah for us and seek help from Him for us. Upon hearing this, the color of his (peace and blessings be upon him) face turned red or changed (the narrator is unsure about the exact words), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people before you used to be put in a pit, then a saw would be brought and placed on their heads and they would be split in two, but this pain would not turn them away from the religion of Allah. Similarly, with iron combs, the flesh and nerves would be torn from their bones, but this trial would not turn them away from the religion. Listen, Allah will surely, surely complete this religion so that a rider will travel from Sana'a to Hadramaut and will fear none but Allah, and will only fear the wolf for his sheep, but you are being hasty.
