Syedna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you not amazed at how the abuse and insults of the Quraysh are averted from me? They curse Mudhammam, they speak ill of Mudhammam, but I am Muhammad."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Since the Qurayshi disbelievers intensely disliked the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), they would not mention that name of his (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) by which his praise would necessarily be implied. However, when, in order to fulfill this objective, they would use another name, then that would not be his name at all in the first place.
