Hadith 10491

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) also narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for fifteen years; during seven of those years, he would see light and hear voices, and for eight years, revelation continued to descend. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) resided in Madinah Munawwarah for ten years.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) spent thirteen years in Makkah al-Mukarramah, but in this narration, fifteen years are mentioned. In reality, this includes the preliminary stages of prophethood as well, as is evident from the words regarding the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) seeing light and hearing a voice.
