Hadith 10480

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((إِنِّي لَأَعْرِفُ حَجَرًا بِمَكَّةَ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُبْعَثَ)) وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ ((لَيَالِيَ بُعِثْتُ)) ((إِنِّي لَأَعْرِفُهُ الْآنَ))
Narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely, I know a stone in Makkah Mukarramah which used to greet me before my Prophethood or on the nights of Prophethood; I still recognize it.

Benefits: … In this, there is mention of the miracle of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and it is also understood that even inanimate objects possess awareness and the ability to distinguish and recognize, as Allah the Exalted has said: {وَاِنَّ مِنْھَا لَمَا یَھْبِطُ مِنْ خَشْیَۃِ اللّٰہِ} … And indeed, among the stones are those that fall down for fear of Allah (Surah al-Baqarah: 74).
