عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبِي كَانَ يَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ وَيَقْرِي الضَّيْفَ وَيَفْعَلُ كَذَا قَالَ إِنَّ أَبَاكَ أَرَادَ شَيْئًا فَأَدْرَكَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, my father used to maintain ties of kinship, honor guests, and perform many other deeds." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your father attained what he intended."
