عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا كَانَتِ اللَّيْلَةُ الَّتِي أُسْرِيَ بِي فِيهَا أَتَتْ عَلَيَّ رَائِحَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ فَقُلْتُ يَا جِبْرِيلُ مَا هَذِهِ الرَّائِحَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ فَقَالَ هَذِهِ رَائِحَةُ مَاشِطَةِ ابْنَةِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَأَوْلَادِهَا قَالَ قُلْتُ وَمَا شَأْنُهَا قَالَ بَيْنَا هِيَ تُمَشِّطُ ابْنَةَ فِرْعَوْنَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ إِذْ سَقَطَتِ الْمِدْرَى مِنْ يَدَيْهَا فَقَالَتْ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَتْ لَهَا ابْنَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ أَبِي قَالَتْ لَا وَلَكِنْ رَبِّي وَرَبُّ أَبِيكِ اللَّهُ قَالَتْ أُخْبِرُهُ بِذَلِكَ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَأَخْبَرَتْهُ فَدَعَاهَا فَقَالَ يَا فُلَانَةُ وَإِنَّ لَكِ رَبًّا غَيْرِي قَالَتْ نَعَمْ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ) فَأَمَرَ بِبَقَرَةٍ مِنْ نُحَاسٍ فَأُحْمِيَتْ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا أَنْ تُلْقَى هِيَ وَأَوْلَادُهَا فِيهَا قَالَتْ لَهُ إِنَّ لِي إِلَيْكَ حَاجَةً قَالَ وَمَا حَاجَتُكِ قَالَتْ أُحِبُّ أَنْ تَجْمَعَ عِظَامِي وَعِظَامَ وَلَدِي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ وَتَدْفِنَنَا قَالَ ذَلِكَ لَكِ عَلَيْنَا مِنَ الْحَقِّ قَالَ فَأَمَرَ بِأَوْلَادِهَا فَأُلْقُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا وَاحِدًا وَاحِدًا إِلَى أَنِ انْتَهَى ذَلِكَ إِلَى صَبِيٍّ لَهَا مُرْضَعٍ وَكَأَنَّهَا تَقَاعَسَتْ مِنْ أَجْلِهِ فَقَالَ يَا أُمَّهْ اقْتَحِمِي فَإِنَّ عَذَابَ الدُّنْيَا أَهْوَنُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْآخِرَةِ فَاقْتَحَمَتْ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ تَكَلَّمَ أَرْبَعَةُ صِغَارٍ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ وَصَاحِبُ جُرَيْجٍ وَشَاهِدُ يُوسُفَ وَابْنُ مَاشِطَةِ ابْنَةِ فِرْعَوْنَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the night of Isra, I perceived a very pure fragrance. I asked: O Jibreel! What is this pure fragrance? He said: This is the fragrance of the hairdresser, the daughter of Pharaoh, and her children. I asked: What is her story? He said: One day she was combing the hair of one of Pharaoh’s daughters, when suddenly the comb fell from her hand and she said: Bismillah (In the name of Allah). Pharaoh’s daughter asked: By Bismillah, do you mean my father? She replied: No, rather by it I mean my Lord and your Lord, Allah. In another narration: I mean my Lord and your Lord, the One who is in the heavens. She said: Shall I inform my father Pharaoh about this? She replied: Yes, certainly. So she informed him. He called his Muslim daughter and said: O so-and-so! Do you have any Lord besides me? She replied: Yes, rather He is my Lord and yours, and He is Allah. In another narration: My Lord and your Lord is the One who is in the heavens. So Pharaoh had a copper cow made, it was heated, and then he ordered that she and her children be thrown into that cow. This pertains to the time when the wife of the Aziz of Egypt invited Yusuf (alayhis salam) to immorality. Yusuf (alayhis salam), in order to preserve his chastity, ran outside and saw that the Aziz of Egypt was at the door. Thus, Allah the Exalted said: {وَاسْتَبَقَا الْبَابَ وَقَدَّتْ قَمِیْصَہ مِنْ دُبُرٍ وَّاَلْفَیَا سَیِّدَہَا لَدَا الْبَابِ قَالَتْ مَا جَزَاء ُ مَنْ اَرَادَ بِاَہْلِکَ سُوْء ًا اِلَّآ اَنْ یُّسْجَنَ اَوْ عَذَابٌ اَلِیْمٌ۔ قَالَ ہِیَ رَاوَدَتْنِیْ عَنْ نَّفْسِیْ وَشَہِدَ شَاہِدٌ مِّنْ اَہْلِہَا اِنْ کَانَ قَمِیْصُہ قُدَّ مِنْ قُبُلٍ فَصَدَقَتْ وَہُوَ مِنَ الْکٰذِبِیْنَ ۔} … And they both raced to the door, and she tore his shirt from behind, and they both found her husband at the door. She said, "What is the recompense for one who intended evil with your wife except that he be imprisoned or a painful punishment?" He (Yusuf) said, "It was she who sought to seduce me." And a witness from her family testified: "If his shirt is torn from the front, then she has told the truth and he is of the liars." (Surah Yusuf: 25, 26)
Hafiz Ibn Kathir said: Yusuf ran towards the door to save himself, and the woman ran after him with the intention of catching him. The shirt came into her hand from behind, and she pulled it forcefully towards herself, due to which Yusuf (alayhis salam) was about to fall backward, but then he exerted himself forward and continued running. In this, the shirt was completely torn from behind, and both reached the door and saw that the woman's husband was present. Upon seeing him, she immediately devised a scheme and at once placed the entire blame on Yusuf (alayhis salam), and began to present herself as chaste, even innocent and oppressed. With a dry face, she narrated her plight to her husband and then, while declaring her purity, said: "Tell me, sir, what should be the punishment for the one who intended evil with your wife? Imprisonment or severe beating—nothing less can be the punishment for such a crime." Now, when Yusuf (alayhis salam) saw his honor in danger and the worst accusation of betrayal being leveled against him, in order to remove the blame from himself and to reveal the clear and true reality, he said that in fact, it was she who pursued me; when I ran, she tried to catch me, to the extent that she even tore my shirt.
A witness from the woman's tribe testified and, with proof and evidence, said to them: "Look at the torn garment. If it is torn from the front, then it is clear that the woman is truthful and he is a liar. She tried to pull him towards herself, he pushed her, stopped her, prevented her, repelled her, and in this the shirt was torn from the front. In this case, the man is at fault and the woman, who claims her innocence, is truthful. Indeed, in this situation, she is truthful. And if his shirt is found torn from behind, then there is no doubt about the woman's lie and the man's truthfulness. It is evident that the woman was inclined towards him, he ran away from her, she chased, caught him, the shirt came into her hand, she pulled it towards herself, he pulled it towards himself, and it was torn from behind."
It is said that this witness was a grown man, who had a beard on his face, he was a special man of the Aziz of Egypt and a man of full age. And he was the cousin of Zulaikha, who was the niece of the king of the time, Rayyan ibn Walid. But another opinion is that this was a small suckling child, rocking in the cradle.
From the statement of Abdullah ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhuma), it is understood that this was an infant child.
