عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ((كُلُّ بَنِي آدَمَ يَطْعُنُ الشَّيْطَانُ بِإِصْبَعِهِ فِي جَنْبِهِ حِينَ يُولَدُ إِلَّا عِيسَى بْنَ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ ذَهَبَ يَطْعُنُ فَطَعَنَ فِي الْحِجَابِ))
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every child of the children of Adam is touched by Satan with his finger at the time of birth, except for ‘Isa ibn Maryam. Satan did go to touch him, but he struck through the veil and returned.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By "covering" is meant the membrane in which the child is wrapped in the mother's womb and which comes out along with the child at the time of birth.
Shaytan strikes the newborn with his touch, thereby initiating his influence over the child, but Allah Ta'ala protected Isa (alayhis salam) and his mother from this. This was due to the blessing of his mother's supplication, as Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) said. See Hadith number (10410).
