Hadith 10411

عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ((خَيْرُ نِسَائِهَا بِنْتُ عِمْرَانَ وَخَيْرُ نِسَائِهَا خَدِيجَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sayyida Maryam bint Imran (peace be upon her) was the best among the women of her time, and Sayyida Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) was the best among the women of her era."
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Allah Ta'ala granted Lady Maryam (rahimahullah) and Lady Khadijah (radi Allahu anha) such distinctions that did not become the destiny of other women. Lady Maryam (rahimahullah) was made pure, chosen for specific matters, Jibril (alayhis salam) spoke to her, the spirit was breathed into her, she became the mother of a great prophet without a husband, her child spoke in infancy and bore witness to his mother’s chastity. Lady Maryam affirmed the words and books of her Lord and she was among the devout worshippers.
Lady Khadijah (radi Allahu anha)—who is Lady Khadijah? When people were disbelieving in Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), at that time Lady Khadijah believed in him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). When the arrogant were holding back from him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), then she affirmed him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). When people were being miserly towards him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), at that time she showed generosity to him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). When estrangement surrounded him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), at that time she showed intimacy to him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). When he (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was distressed at the first coming of our master Jibril (alayhis salam), at that time she comforted him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) by mentioning his noble qualities and took him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) to Waraqah bin Nawfal.
