Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The reason for the naming of Khidr is that when he would sit on barren land where there was no greenery, it would become lush and start to move. The narrator says: By "farwah" is meant white grass and similar things. Abdullah, the narrator, said: I think that Abdur Razzaq has given this explanation.
