عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ الصَّلَاةَ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ مَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَيْهَا كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا وَبُرْهَانًا وَنَجَاةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُحَافِظْ عَلَيْهَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ نُورٌ وَلَا بُرْهَانٌ وَكَانَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَعَ قَارُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ خَلَفٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, while mentioning the prayer: Whoever guards this prayer, it will be for him a light, a proof, and salvation on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever does not guard it, it will be neither a light for him, nor a proof, and such a person will be with Qarun, Pharaoh, Haman, and Ubayy bin Khalaf.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Pharaoh was kept away from obedience to Allah Ta'ala because of his kingship, Qarun because of his wealth and riches, Haman because of his ministerial position, and Ubayy ibn Khalaf because of his trade. What is the reason that the one who neglects prayer does not find time to perform it? Reflect upon this.
