عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عَمِّ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مَا يَنْبَغِي لِعَبْدٍ أَنْ يَقُولَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى وَنَسَبَهُ إِلَى أَبِيهِ
Abu Alia says: The cousin of your Prophet narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Allah Almighty said: It is not permissible for any servant to say: I am better than Yunus bin Matta. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, attributed him to his father.
